June McGeePOCOMOKE CITY, Md. - June Wilkerson McGee, 87, of Pocomoke City, died Saturday, February 4, 2012 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury after a short illness. Born June 1, 1924 in Sanford, VA, she was a daughter of the late William W. and Blanche (Carney) Wilkerson. June and her late husband, Levin "LJ" McGee owned and operated the Pony Ranch Restaurant in Pocomoke City for over 25 years. She was a member of the Liberty Rock Church in Crisfield, MD.
She is survived by her three children, Robert McGee of Salisbury, Martha McGee and partner Dave Staley of Salisbury, and David McGee of Charleston, SC; three grandchildren, Laurie Dennis Azoolin of Cooper City, FL., Melissa Mast and her husband Craig Mast of Salisbury, and Heather McGee of Philadelphia; six great-grandchildren, Liel, Tali, Danit, Amit, Alicia and Kenny; one sister, Eloise Watts and several cousins. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, William and Samuel Wilkerson and one half-brother, Howard Lewis.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, February 8th at the Holloway Funeral Home in Pocomoke City, where family and friends will gather one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the First Baptist Cemetery in Pocomoke City. If desired memorial contributions can be made to any charity of your choice. June was indeed a friend to anyone who needed a friend and put her family and all loved ones before herself, always. She will be missed so much by all who knew her.
