
Pamela Nock MarinerBERLIN, Md. - Pamela "Pam" Nock Mariner, 66, of Berlin, died Saturday, February 4, 2012 at Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin surrounded by her husband, children, and grandchildren. Born February 12, 1945 in Pocomoke City, she was a daughter of Mary Elizabeth Watson Nock, of Pocomoke City and the late Norman C. Nock. Pam graduated from Pocomoke High School, Class of 1963. She was a talented pianist and loved sharing her gift of music with others. During high school, she was a member of The Sparks, a band formed with her classmates. She was a member of Salem United Methodist Church in Pocomoke City and Belmont United Methodist Church in Richmond, VA, and other Methodist Churches in Charlotte, NC, and Statesville, NC. Pam was the youth choir director at all of these churches and often played music for senior citizen centers and other civic organizations. Her daughters and nieces actively participated in these musical events with her. She had a special place in her heart for children and nurtured many through her years. Most of all, she was a loving wife, mother, sister, daughter and grandmother.
She is survived by her loving husband, Munroe Mariner; her mother, Mary Nock; mother and father-in-law, Otho and Ida Mariner of Snow Hill; four daughters, Kristine Hudson and husband Bill of Berlin, Leah Huey and husband Rick of Pocomoke City, Joy Venere and husband Rich of Salisbury, and Amy Culbertson and husband Matt of Fairfax, VA; eleven grandchildren, Elizabeth, Mary Alex, and Caroline Hudson, Jessica and Emily Huey, Julie, Alyssa, and Vince Venere, and Walter, Madeline, and Charles Culbertson; her sister, Debbie Guy and husband Dean of Pocomoke City; brothers-in-law, Wayne Parsons of Pocomoke City, Gordon Mariner and wife Sandra of Georgetown, DE, Otho Mariner and wife Becky of Snow Hill; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her father, Norman, she was preceded in death by her sister, Joy Parsons of Pocomoke City.
A funeral service, officiated by Rev. Dr. Sally Dolch, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at Salem United Methodist Church, 2nd & Walnut Streets, Pocomoke City. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the Pocomoke Fire Department Community Center and interment will follow the reception in Bates Methodist Church Cemetery in Snow Hill. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Salem United Methodist Church Musical Fund, P.O. Box 145, Pocomoke City, MD. 21851.
