Fruitland Driver Hits 12-Year-Old Pedestrian

FRUITLAND, Md. - A Fruitland teen is facing some very adult charges - after a joy ride ended with a 12-year-old in the emergency room.

Police say the 14-year-old took her fathers car without asking, went for a drive, and struck the child on the 4000 block of South Brown street. The juvenile thankfully was not seriously hurt and was treated for minor injuries. The teen driver was arrested and is facing a number of charges.
