
Ella Mae JonesCAMBRIDGE, Md. - Ella Mae Jones, 81 formerly of Liners Rd, departed this life on Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at Boston University Medical Center in Boston, MA. Born November 27, 1930 in Cambridge, MD, son of the late Charlie and Hazel McNamara Phillips. He was educated in the public schools of Dorchester County and was employed as a seasonal worker for various seafood companies in the area. Her hobbies were baseball (her favorite team was the Red Soxs), listening to music, quilting and cooking for family and friends.
Her memory shall be cherished by her eleven children, Charles Elliott (Maeola) Linas Rd, George Elliott (Boston MA), Dorita (Regina) Travers (Arnold) Linas Rd, Melvin Elliott ( Valia), Easton, MD, Eloise Elliott, Boston, MA. Jerome Elliott (Charlene) Hurlock, MD., Robert Elliott (Sonia) Delaware, Barbara Major (Perry), Cambridge, MD., Larry Elliott (Rhonda) Boston Mass, Marvin Elliott, Cambridge, MD., Shawn Elliott, Boston, MA; forty six grandchildren; forty seven great grandchildren; five sisters in-law, Francine Harris, Constance Elliott (Freddie), Barbara Taylor (Earl) and Audrey Hopkins (all of Cambridge, MD) and Claretha Williams (Ernest) Salisbury, MD; two brothers in-law, James Thompson (Mattie) Cordtown, Md. and Dudley Elliott (Baltimore, MD and host of other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Pauline Phillips, two brothers Pauldine and Levi Phillips, a son, Leroma Elliott Jr., a great grandchild, Jaylen Williams and a special friend, Thomas Day.
Services will be held on Saturday, Feb. 4, 2012 1pm at John Wesley U.M. Church Liner Rd. with a viewing one hour prior. Interment will follow at John Wesley U.M. Church Cemetery.
