SALISBURY, Md. - Mary Elaine Sheppard, 64, of Salisbury, went to be with her Lord for eternal rest after a short illness on Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury. She was the daughter of the late James and Lottie Mae Sheppard. Mary attended Worcester High School and worked at Howard Johnsons for many years. She also was employed by and retired from Salisbury State University.

She leaves to morn her passing a daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Brian Jones of Salisbury; two adopted daughters, Bria Richardson and Briana Tindley of Salisbury; three grandchildren, Shamona Jones and Jordan Jones of Salisbury and Brian Jones, Jr. of Sykesville, MD; 7 great grandchildren and a devoted friend, George Harmon of Salisbury. She also leaves behind to cherish her memory, siblings, Rebecca Sheppard Avance of Baltimore, MD, James and Sarah Sheppard of Salisbury and Robert Sheppard of Camaden, NJ, several nieces, nephews, three aunts and two uncles and a host of cousins and friends. In addition to her parents, Mary, was preceded in death by five siblings, Ada Mae Duffy, Lonnie T. Sheppard, Lillie E. Sheppard, Bessie P. Anderson, and Preston E. Sheppard; two nieces, Gloria Bard and Dawn Johnson; great granddaughter, Akirah Waters.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 28, 2012 at United Faith Church of Deliverance. A visitation will be held on Friday, January 27, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Holloway Funeral Home. Officiating will be the Bishop George A. Copeland.
