One Lane Opens On New Indian River Inlet Bridge

DELAWARE - Even the cold temperatures and the threat of old man winter couldn't keep drivers away from the new Indian River Inlet Bridge Friday.

After nearly 4 years of construction - one southbound lane of the bridge opened Friday. Over the next few days a northbound lane will be opened. Then crews will start demolishing the old bridge. Officials hope to have all 4 lanes of traffic as well as the pedestrian and bikeway open by this spring.
