Salisbury Lawyer Testifies At Frank Ward Fraud Hearing

Posted: Updated:

SALISBURY, Md. - Frank Ward's administrative law hearings continue this week. And Tuesday, a local lawyer, who acted as the legal closing agent in several of Ward's mortgages, testified in the case.

Katherine Whitehead, partner in the law firm Caldwell and Whitehead, explained to the judge how Frank Ward's construction company reportedly sold homes, Ward allegedly acted as the mortgage lender, and his company "The Money Centre" reportedly received the fees for processing the mortgages. Staff attorney, Jedd Bellman, with the State of Maryland, Office of the Attorney General, said this was a clear violation of Maryland lender laws.

Ward's Attorney, M.J. Caldwell, is also a partner in the law firm Caldwell and Whitehead.
