GEORGETOWN, Del. - WMDT was the only local TV news station in court Friday when Judge William Carpenter Junior sentenced Earl Bradley two months after he was convicted of raping his young patients.

A dangerous pedophile who committed heinous acts. That's what prosecutors are calling Earl Bradley. And now the former pediatrician who molested so many of his young patients will be spending the rest of his life behind bars. Bradley will serve 14 life sentences slapped on top of more than 160 years in jail. "We had two objectives in this case. One was to make sure Earl Bradley never walks out of a Delaware state prison alive," said Delaware Attorney General Beau Biden.

Biden speaks out for the first time after the judge issued a gag order. He tells us their second objective is not over, and that is to take care of the victims. "We are going to continue to make sure that we do everything we can to provide for them and their families," said Biden.

Bradley's attorneys say although this is the sentence they were expecting, this case is still far from over. "We'll file a notice of appeal. We have 30 days to do it and we're not going to wait 30 days. Until we can get before the Supreme Court there's really not much else we can say," said Bradley's defense attorney Dean Johnson.

Bradley declined to make a comment in court, and his attorneys say he is putting all his stock into the appeal. Biden told WMDT there is still another part of this case they are working on. Currently, there is an open indictment after victims came forward. This case is scheduled to go to court in June of next year.
