No purchase necessary. Must be 17 years old or a high school graduate to enter, and at least 18 years old or a high school graduate when classes begin, to redeem prize. Register to win by submitting an on-line entry form including a brief essay (50 words or less) telling us how a college education could change your life, at www.bankofdelmarva.com, www.wmdt.com, or texting "college" to 45548. A brief essay must be included to be eligible to win. ONE ENTRY ALLOWED PER "BENEFICIARY" and said named Beneficiary must complete the written essay field on official on-line entry form (failure to adhere to these rules will result in duplicate and incomplete entries being removed from consideration). Essay must be written by the beneficiary. Duplicate named beneficiary entries will be disqualified. The named beneficiary on selected entry form, upon signed agreement, will become the official "winner" and must meet and abide by the rules set forth here. Entries will be accepted beginning 5/13/13 through 6pm 9/27/13. Employees of Brechner Management, LLC, WMDT 47, its affiliates, employees of The Bank of Delmarva, its affiliates and "Full-Time Standard" Employees of Wor-Wic Community College, and all dependants of each sponsor, are not eligible to win. Prior winners are ineligible to enter and win.
All submissions become the property of the sponsors. Brechner Management, LLC, Delmarva Broadcast Service and all participating sponsors, their agencies and parent companies assume no responsibility or liability for damages, losses or injury resulting from acceptance or use of these prizes. A panel of judges will select the top 20 essays from all eligible submissions. Two winners will be chosen in a random drawing from the 20 top essays no later than COB 10/17/13. Two contingent runners-up will be selected at this time. The winners will be announced during the WMDT 47 6pm Newscast on 10/25/13 and contacted by phone. If the "winners" are unable, for any reason, to register for classes at Wor-Wic within the stated time frame, the complete prize (tuition, books, fees and laptop) will be awarded to the first contingent runner-up and so on, until a suitable winner is found. Prize cannot be redeemed for cash value or exchanged. Tuition, books, fees and laptop are non-transferable and no substitution will be allowed. Income taxes, if any, are the responsibility of the winners.
Winners can enroll in classes at Wor-Wic Community College as early as the Spring Semester of 2014, but no later than the Fall Semester of 2014 or the prize pack will be forfeited and awarded to the first contingent runner up. All admission requirements must be met, and no admission preference will be given to the winners. A maximum of 36 credit hours (540 contact hours for continuing education) can be taken with the total value not to exceed $10,500 including tuition, books and fees. The winners must register and provide such proof of registered classes prior to receiving the laptop. If the student withdraws from the courses without the prior approval of the dean of student development or violates student conduct regulations, the prize is forfeited. Former or current Wor-Wic students must meet the college's standards for satisfactory academic progress in order to receive or continue receiving the benefits of the prize. Unused credit hours will be forfeited after 2 years. The winners must apply for and receive (if eligible) financial aid and veterans' benefits before prize funds can be awarded.
By participating in this contest, you accept and agree to these rules, which shall be final and legally binding. You also hereby grant WMDT 47 the right to use your name, image and voice for any and all future promotional purposes.
