Hello I'm WMDT's Evening News Anchor Emily Lampa. You can catch me anchoring the evening news Sunday through Thursday evenings.
I'm a Jersey girl at heart, but proud to now call Delmarva home. I joined the WMDT 47 News team in February 2011 as Weekend Anchor and moved up to Weekday Evening News Anchor in July 2012. Since moving to the Eastern Shore, I have already had so many memorable experiences; from reporting on two hurricanes to participating in the 2012 Delmarva Celebrity Dance Off!
Before moving to the Eastern Shore, I worked in Orlando as a General Assignment Reporter for Central Florida News 13. I also braved the extreme snowy winters of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan to report the news with the NBC affiliate WLUC TV6.
I graduated from Rowan University in Glassboro, NJ with a BA in Communications. During my time there, I interned at WCAU NBC10 Philadelphia, which led to my first news job as a production assistant.
Even as a young girl, I always knew I would end up as a broadcast journalist. But it was in high school, where I first realized my dream, anchoring for Cherry Hill High School West's weekly news show "The West Report." To this day, I still credit my high school broadcast teacher Joseph Truitt for kicking off my career.
I was born in Philadelphia and grew up in Cherry Hill, NJ. In my spare time I enjoy movies, watching tv, reading, snowboarding, bowling, traveling, and ballroom dancing. But most of all, I love spending time with my husband Nick, four-year-old daughter Eva, and our three-legged cat, Katie.
Be sure to catch me on WMDT 47 & Delmarva's CW 3 and check out my facebook page to see what I'm up to this week.
