Worcester County Sheriff not seeking re-election for 2018

WORCESTER COUNTY, Md. - The Worcester County Sheriff is not running for re-election in 2018.

According to the sheriff's office, as of Thursday, Sheriff Reggie Mason, is not seeking re-election. It is not clear whether he is retiring but officials tell 47 ABC that Mason has been in law enforcement since 1971.

He has served the Ocean City Police Department, the Marines, he served in the Vietnam War and more. 47 ABC is also told that Sheriff Mason determined that two terms as Sheriff was enough.

It's unclear who sheriff mason is endorsing for the next sheriff of Worcester County.
