HEBRON, Md. - Police are searching for a suspect, after they say he robbed a convenience store at knife point, in Wicomico County.
Maryland State Police say on Sunday, around 12:45 PM, troopers with the MSP Salisbury Barrack were dispatched to Shore Stop, on Ocean Gateway, for a reported armed robbery after the robbery happened, in Hebron. Once on scene, troopers reportedly learned from an employee that a man came into the store with a large butcher knife as he was sweeping the floor, near the front entrance. According to the report, at that point the suspect robbed the clerk at knife point and obtained cash and cigarettes.
MSP says the victim was able to see a small passenger vehicle speeding quickly on westbound US Route 50 past the store after the suspect exited the Shore Stop. Law enforcement says previously on Saturday, a vehicle was stolen from Preston which matched the description the victim gave at the Shore Stop. Troopers say the vehicle was recovered on Line Road, in Federalsburg. Investigators believe the vehicle is the same vehicle used in the armed robbery.
According to authorities, the suspect is described as standing 5'5" to 5'7", with "blueish" eyes, and wearing a Black flat-brimmed style hat prominently displaying "CHICAGO" in white lettering on the front, a gray t-shirt, a long-sleeved under-shirt with camouflage patterning on the sleeves, a dark colored pants or dark-wash style jeans, a gray tennis shoes with black soles (appear to be UnderArmor), white socks, and a black bandana covering the majority of his face.
