Search leads to firearm and meth arrest in Church Creek

CHURCH CREEK, Md. - Deputies say that two Church Creek suspects have been arrested for manufacturing meth in Dorchester County on July 5.

On July 5, members of the Dorchester County Narcotics Task Force, Dorchester County Sheriff's Office, Dorchester County State's Attorney's Office, Homeland Security, Ocean City Bureau and D.E.A. Salisbury executed a search and seizure warrant on Golden Hill Road in Church Creek.

The warrant was the result of a combined investigation into the manufacture and distribution of methamphetamine in an area from Dorchester County to Ocean City. The warrant found equipment, items and paraphernalia related to the production of methamphetamine and two loaded shotguns.

The targets of the investigation, 36-year-old Karl Young and 34-year-old Katie Kus of Golden Hill Road were both arrested and charged. Young was charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, possession of equipment used to administer methamphetamine and illegal possession of a firearm.

Kus was charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine and possession of equipment used to administer methamphetamine.

Young was ordered to be held without bond and Kus was released by a court commissioner.
