EDEN, Md. - Troopers are searching for three men after authorities say they were involved in a home invasion and shooting, where a man was shot, in Wicomico County, on Thursday morning.
Maryland State Police say on Thursday, shortly before 3:30 AM, troopers responded to a shooting at a home in the 3600 block of Upper Ferry Road, in Eden. Police say that a 22-year-old man was awake in his home when three suspects broke through an outside door and entered the residence.
According to the report, the three suspects confronted the 22-year-old and demand money. During the confrontation, troopers say the 22-year-old victim was shot in the leg and cash was taken from him.
Authorities say three other individuals were awakened by the noise, and two were directed to the ground at gunpoint by suspects. The third individual reportedly hid in a bedroom.
The victim was taken to Peninsula Regional Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries.
Ron Snyder, the Communications Director for MSP said, "Right now investigators are looking for three suspects described as African American males who were dressed in black. Two were reportedly carrying hand guns one was carrying a pistol. There is no suspect vehicle description."
The Wicomico County Sheriff's Office and the Wicomico County State's Attorney's Office provided additional assistance in the investigation.
This incident remains under investigation.
