Go Fund Me page set up for Berlin family after house fire

BERLIN, Md. - An update on a story 47 ABC brought shared on Tuesday.

A family's home in Berlin was damaged by a fire, but now the community is stepping up to help out.

According to the Go Fund Me page, Hank and Julie Koenig lost a lot of their belongings, as well as two of their cats in the fire.

A Go Fund Me page was set up Wednesday with a goal of $10,000. As of Thursday, 80 people already raised over $6,000.

Sherrie Beckstead, the person who set up the fundraiser wrote, "They do have insurance but as we all know that does not cover everything. We also want to help to ensure that they are able to enjoy their favorite holiday season during this very difficult time."
