SALISBURY, Md. - At Salisbury University Saturday, Student United Way put on its Halloween-style Zombie 5K to benefit United Way of the Lower Eastern Shore.
Runners came out dressed in their costumes and were treated to a choreographed thriller dance, all while raising funds that will be spread out to about 70 organizations in the region.
Those organizations include Habitat for Humanity, the Salvation Army, and the Girl and Boy Scouts.
"We got some new stuff this year. Every year it gets bigger and bigger. So we love to see it grow and we hope to see it grow next year," said Drew Lacouture with Student United Way. "Those who do it one year come back again because they love the event so much. They love dressing up, it's a family event, too. So people bring their dogs, people bring their kids, it's really fun."
Student United Way at S.U. will be partnering with the Student Government Association this Friday for their recycle madness.
United Way will be hosting their own shred day, where students staff and others can bring in papers to be shredded and recycled.
