SALISBURY, Md. - A robbery is under investigation, after police say four suspects got away with money following the robbery of an armored truck driver, in Salisbury.
According to Salisbury Police, officers responded to the parking lot of S.E.C.U., on Mount Hermon Road, on Monday at 7:15 AM for the report of a robbery. Once on scene, officers learned that a male Loomis Armored truck driver was approached by four males with handguns, while filling up the ATM machine with money.
At that point, authorities report that the suspects immediately demanded money while bounding the driver's hands. Law enforcement says the suspects stole the driver's company issued handgun and an undisclosed amount of money before fleeing on foot.
No one was injured. Four black male suspects wearing dark clothing and masks, reportedly ran northbound across Route 50 afterwards.
Officials say that East Salisbury Elementary, Wicomico Early Learning Center, Wicomico Middle, Wicomico High and Choices Academy were put in safe in place status until they receive word from law enforcement that they can return to normal operations.
According to Wicomico County Public Schools, as of 10:30 a.m., Wicomico High and Wicomico Middle are back in normal operations; however, the safe in place status continues for East Salisbury Elementary, Wicomico Early Learning Center and Choices Academy.
Salisbury Police say that if they see someone that matches the description in the area, they are asked to call officers at 410-548-3165.
