POCOMOKE CITY, Md. - Four people were arrested, after deputies say they executed search and seizure warrants stemming from an undercover drug investigation that happened over the last three months, in Worcester County.
The Worcester County Sheriff's Office says on September 27, members of the Worcester County Criminal Enforcement Team executed search and seizure warrants at four locations in, Pocomoke City. Deputies say the warrants and indictments of several individuals stem from an undercover cocaine distribution investigation that happened over the last three months. The Worcester County Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Ocean City Police Department Narcotics and Special Enforcement Unit, Maryland State Police Gang Unit East, Maryland State Apprehension Team, Worcester County Sheriff's Office STAR Team, Worcester County Sheriff's Office Patrol Division, Worcester County Bureau of Investigation, Homeland Security Investigations, Somerset County Narcotics Task Force, Wicomico County Narcotics Task Force, Pocomoke Police Department, and Worcester County States Attorney's Office.
According to the report, authorities found approximately 36 grams of cocaine, along with 30 grams of marijuana, one gram of MDMA, $1,404 in cash, and two loaded firearms. Deputies say during the search of one home, they found various items of stolen property. Members of the Worcester County Bureau of Investigation were apparently also on scene and are currently conducting a parallel investigation regarding burglary and thefts.
According to law enforcement, Arron Brown, Marvin Handy, Wayne Collins, and Laquan Townsend were arrested in connection to the investigation.
Brown was charged with possession of MDMA and distribution of cocaine two counts. Handy was charged with possession of cocaine. Collins was charged with possession of cocaine and possession with intent to distribute. Townsend was charged with possession of cocaine, possession with intent to distribute cocaine, possession of marijuana, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of a firearm by prohibited person (two counts), possession of short barreled rifle, and possession of firearm during drug trafficking.
