Car slams into vacant building

SALISBURY, Md. - A call to the Wicomico Sheriff's Office came in at 1:30 Saturday afternoon. Police responded to the intersection of West Road and Booth Street, where they say a car slammed into a building.

Officials say the driver of the vehicle suffered serious injuries, but they are considered non-life threatening. The driver was the only person in the car.

47 ABC could not confirm if alcohol or drugs were a factor, but officials say speed was a factor.

The building that was hit has been unoccupied for some time.  There were no other injuries.
