BERLIN, Md. - Worcester County is making some major improvements to its roads. Monday morning, Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) officials started construction along Stephen Decatur Highway, as part of a $1.7 million resurfacing project, that will be done by the end of April.
Starting Monday, crews will be replacing old drainage pipes between Antique Road and Landings Boulevard, in Berlin. That portion of Stephen Decatur Highway will be closed and detoured between 7 AM and 7 PM, until Friday March 9th.
At the same time, another crew will begin milling a 4-mile stretch of Stephen Decatur Highway, between Route 376 and Route 50.
MDOT officials say, the more than 11,000 vehicles that travel on this section of MD 611 each day, should add extra time to their commute.
