The Laurel Police Department says on Friday, officers were dispatched to the Hollybrook Apartments for a fight in progress, in Laurel. According to the report, before officers arrived,  41-year-old Katherine Blake, of Laurel, attempted to assault the victim with a hammer in front of the victim's children. Police say Blake was found to be intoxicated on scene and became disorderly with officers. Blake was apparently taken into custody without incident.

The 41-year-old was charged with reckless endangering second degree, terroristic threatening, menacing, disorderly conduct, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child and failing to comply with fingerprint processing. Due to Blake's level of intoxication, authorities say she could not be arraigned and was turned over to Sussex Correctional Institute.
