UPDATE: Man arrested in clerk assault in Rehoboth Beach

REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. - A man was arrested, after police say he assaulted a 78-year-old store clerk, in Rehoboth Beach.

Rehoboth Beach Police say on Wednesday, they arrested 54-year-old Ronald Phelan, of Rehoboth Beach, after receiving a tip from the public. According to the report, police were unable to find any merchandise in this case. Authorities report that the 54-year-old was arrested for assaulting the elderly store clerk on September 16, in Rehoboth Beach.

Phelan was charged with one count of felony second degree assault. He was later released on $5,000 unsecured bail.
