MILFORD, Del. - Two women were arrested after police say they hit an officer during an physical dispute at a Milford apartment complex.
The Milford Police Department says that on Friday they responded to the Brightway Commons Apartments, just before 12:30 PM, in response to a domestic altercation. According to the report, 32-year-old Dana Harris was involved in an altercation with a woman. Police say that the incident eventually led to 18-year-old Dana D. Harris getting involved in a physical dispute with the 32-year-old. Authorities report that as the responding officer arrived on scene, he was hit by the two women while trying to separate them. The officer received a minor injury from this incident.
Officials say that, as police tried to arrest Dana, 32, and Dana D.,18, they continued to resist arrest. According to the report, both women were charged with assault second degree with injury to law enforcement officer, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct. Police say Dana, 32, was also charged with assault third degree. At Justice of the Peace Court #2, the 32-year-old's bail was set at $7,500, and the 18-year-old's bail was set at $12,100 unsecured.
Both women have a preliminary hearing scheduled for August 11th at the Kent County Court of Common Pleas.
