Police sponsor back to school initiative in Kent County

KENT COUNTY, Del. - Delaware State Police will sponsor a back to school initiative on Wednesday, in Kent County.

DSP officials say that Troop 3 will sponsor a back to school initiative on August 23, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM, in Kent County. Officials say that the goal of this initiative will be to target and make a positive impact on the children that live there. DSP wants to remind the children that it's "cool" to go back to school.

Troopers will be walking through the communities interacting with the children and handing out "COOL" freeze pops. The DSP Community Outreach Unit, Public Information Office, Mounted Patrol Unit  and additional community members, clergy, and civic leaders will assist in this effort.

Meadowbrook Acres, Magnolia at 12:00 PM

Rodney Village, Alder Park, Dover at 1:00 PM

Capitol Park, Dover at 2:00 PM
