UPDATE: Harrington man wanted for fleeing police now in custody

HARRINGTON, Del. - UPDATE: A Harrington man wanted in connection to a vehicle pursuit on Monday evening was arrested Tuesday by Harrington Police and Delaware State Police at a residence on Messicks Road, officials report.

Antonio J. Vilone, 29, was arrested without incident, police said. He faces multiple charges related to Monday's pursuit, including disregarding a police officer signal, driving with a suspended or revoked license and driving on the wrong side of the road.

He was arraigned for these charges and other charges stemming from capias and violation of probation warrants. He has been committed to JTVCC in default of a $5,900 secured bond and a $9,220 cash bond, officials said.


Original post: Police are searching for a Harrington man who reportedly stole a vehicle Monday evening and then led officers on a pursuit.

Harrington Police say an officer responded to a home in the 200 block of East Street where Delaware State Police had received a complaint of a stolen vehicle. At the residence, the victim accused Antonio J. Vilone, 29, of taking the vehicle, officials said.

According to police, Vilone returned to the residence in the vehicle shortly after. As the officer tried making contact with Vilone, police say Vilone sped off in the vehicle, leading the officer on a chase for several miles. Vilone was able to evade pursuing officers, officials said.

Vilone is wanted on several charges, including disregarding a police officer's signal, driving with a suspended or revoked license and multiple traffic violations. He is also wanted by Delaware State Police, the Kent County Superior Court and several other courts.
