Police: Robbery suspect punches elderly clerk in Rehoboth Beach, suspect wanted

REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. - Authorities are searching for a suspect, after they say he stole jewelry from a store and punched an elderly clerk in the face, in Sussex County.

The Rehoboth Beach Police Department says on September 16, around 1:30 PM, a man went into a store, in the first block of Rehoboth Avenue, and stole jewelry from the display, before leaving the store, in Rehoboth Beach. According to the report, as the 78-year-old store clerk confronted the suspect, the suspect then punched him in the face. The clerk apparently sustained a minor injury from this incident.

Police say the stolen items is valued at less than  $100.
