SEAFORD, Del. - Officials say a single vehicle crash killed a Bridgeville man, in Seaford.
Delaware State Police say on Sunday, a single vehicle lost control on King Road, in Seaford.
According to the report, around 12:30 AM, 31-year-old Eliud Vasquez, of Bridgeville, was driving a 2003 Hyandai XG sedan northbound on King Road at a high speed. Authorities say that while Vasquez tried to make the right curve, the roadway was soaked with rain causing him to lose control and the car to spin clockwise off the east side of the roadway. Troopers say that the front of the car then struck a large tree causing a violent rotation which partially ejected the driver, while simultaneously hitting a second tree before coming to a stop.
Officials say that Vasquez was not properly restrained. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say that alcohol may have been a contributing factor in this case. This crash remains under investigation by the DSP Collision Reconstruction Team.
Authorities report that King Road was closed for approximately four hours while the crash was investigated and cleared.
