Month-long investigation leads to two charged with heroin distribution

HARBESON, Del. - The Delaware State Police Sussex County Drug Unit says they have arrested two men after a month-long drug investigation.

At around 4:30 Thursday afternoon, DSP detectives and members of the Sussex County Governor's Task Force and State Police Special Operations Response Team executed a search warrant at a home in the 22000 block of Hurdle Ditch Road in Harbeson. Police say they found 346 bags of heroin, about 5.19 grams, and a loaded .38 caliber revolver that had been reported as stolen.

Troopers reportedly found the homeowner, 51-year-old Maurice C. Gordon Jr., in Lincoln and arrested him without incident. Naquan T. Williams, 34, of Patterson, N.J. was also arrested in connection to the investigation, with troopers reportedly finding more than $14,800 in suspected drug proceeds in his car.

Both men are charged with possession with intent to deliver heroin, possession of heroin and second degree conspiracy. Officials say Gordon is also charged with possession of a firearm by a person prohibited and receiving a stolen firearm. The two have been committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution, Gordon on a cash bond of $55,000 and Williams on a cash bond of $42,000.
