MILFORD, Del. - Police say that a man was arrested on drug and other charges after a crash last Wednesday, in Milford.
According to Milford Police, last Wednesday at 11:51 p.m., the Department's Patrol Division responded to a crash in the area of the 500 block of Marshall Street. Upon arrival, contact was made with the alleged driver of the vehicle.
The driver reportedly provided a false name to officers, but investigators say that they determined that the vehicle's driver's name is 26-year-old Calvin Allen of Milford.
Investigators say that Allen had heroin and drug paraphernalia at the time of the crash. Investigators also say that Allen appeared to be under the influence of drugs when officers made contact with him.
A search warrant was obtained through the Justice of the Peace Court for a blood draw from Allen in reference to a DUI investigation.
After Allen was treated for crash injuries, he was taken into custody and charged with driving under the influence of a combination of alcohol and any drug, criminal impersonation, possession of drug paraphernalia (non- marijuana,) driving while suspended or revoked, possess/consume a controlled or counterfeit substance with an aggravating factor and inattentive driving.
It was also learned that Allen had three active warrants for his arrest as well. He had a presentment through Justice of the Peace Court three and was committed to the Department of Corrections in default of $2,351 secured bail. He was ordered to appear in Sussex County Court of Common Pleas at a later date in reference to this case.
