MILFORD, Del. - Police say that a Milford man was arrested on drug and menacing charges on Sunday morning.
According to Milford Police, at 11:36 AM on Sunday morning, officers responded to 500 block of S.E. Front Street in Milford for a fight. Officers responded to the scene and made contact with the reporting person outside of the home.
The person said that the suspect, 31-year-old Ricky Ness, arrived at the home apparently drunk. Ness then allegedly argued with a man inside of the home. During the argument, Ness reportedly began to kick and punch the walls of the home.
The reporting person said that as they tried to call 911, Ness allegedly threatened to harm them if they did not hang up the phone. The reporting person said that Ness reportedly tried to take their phone to prevent them from calling 911. Ness eventually left the home. He was later found by officers in the area of Columbia Street and McColley Street.
During the officers contact with Ness, it was learned that he had fireworks, suspect marijuana and marijuana related drug paraphernalia. It was also found that Ness was allegedly drunk.
Ness was taken into custody and charged with malicious interference with emergency communications: intentionally prevent or hinder, menacing, possession of fireworks, possession of marijuana (civil violation,) and possession of drug paraphernalia marijuana related (civil violation.) Ness also reportedly had a warrant out of Sussex County Court of Common Pleas.
Ness was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution due to his intoxication and was set for a presentment at the Justice of the Peace Court once he was sober.
