GEORGETOWN, Del. - An armed robbery is under investigation, after troopers say four men robbed a man at gunpoint while he was sitting in a vehicle, in Georgetown.
Delaware State Police says on Wednesday, just before 11:00 PM, a 16-year-old girl and a 22-year-old man were sitting in the teen's vehicle which was parked in her driveway in the unit block of Merganser Road. While they were seated in the vehicle, troopers say a vehicle pulled in beside them and a man exited the vehicle and approached the 16-year-old and 22-year-old.
At that time, authorities say another man armed with a handgun exited the vehicle and ordered the 22-year-old victim out of the car, while demanding that he turn over his cell phone. According to DSP, while being confronted by the suspect with the gun, two more men exited the vehicle. The 22-year-old victim then turned over his cell phone and wallet before all four suspects got back into the vehicle and fled the scene.
No one was injured in the incident.
According to the report, the first suspect was described as a Hispanic man wearing a dark colored sweatshirt. The second suspect was described as a Hispanic man wearing a dark colored sweatshirt, with a light colored bandana partially covering his face and showing a handgun. troopers report that the other two suspects were only described as Hispanic men.
The suspect's vehicle was described as a white four-door passenger vehicle. No further suspect or vehicle information could be provided at this time.
