Former Secret Service officer pleads guilty to charges related to sexting minors

WASHINGTON - A former Secret Service officer pleaded guilty in federal court Wednesday to charges related to sending sexually explicit messages to underage girls.

According to the Department of Justice, Lee Robert Moore, 38, of Church Hill, Md., pleaded guilty to one count of enticement of a minor to engage in sexual activity and one count of attempting to transfer obscene materials to a minor.

Moore, who was assigned to the White House as a uniformed U.S. Secret Service officer at the time of his arrest in November 2015, had originally been under investigation by Delaware State Police Detectives with the Delaware Child Predator Task Force. Moore reportedly used the messaging apps Meet24 and Kik to communicate with a detective posing as a 14-year-old girl. Detectives say Moore communicated while at work and sent a sexually explicit image of himself during their two-month investigation.

Once he was arrested, investigators learned that Moore engaged in sexually explicit communication with minors in Florida, Texas and Missouri. Moore himself requested his federal charges in Delaware be moved to the Southern District of Florida where he would plead guilty to both of his charges at once.
