FRUITLAND, Md. - Throw out all your furniture or else face a fine or be evicted.
That's what residents at the Fruitland Apartments say they were told - and they have the letter to prove it.
John Justice and his neighbors were told to toss out their sofas and mattresses.
The landlord gave all the residents a letter stating that their building was contaminated with bed bugs and that if they didn't get rid of their furniture they would face fines of 110 to 300 dollars.
The residents say the landlord will not compensate them either.
WMDT contacted the landlord who confirmed the letter's content.
She says exterminators are coming in to take care of the bugs.
