Hey Delmarva! My name is Brooke Butler and I am your Weekend Anchor/Weekday Reporter! I joined the 47 ABC News team in July of 2017 after graduating from the College of Charleston with a Degree in Communications. Go Cougs! While at CofC, I was a member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority and I frequently volunteered at a local pet shelter and was a member of the Charitable Society of Charleston. During my college career, I interned with three different news stations, most notably WTOC in Savannah, Georgia and Live 5 News in Charleston, South Carolina. I can’t really say I am from anywhere, my family moved around a lot throughout my life. I’ve lived in Connecticut, Chicago, Toronto, New Jersey, Virginia and South Carolina. We always made sure to spend our summer vacations in Ocean City, as my family roots to Delmarva run deep. My great grandfather was actually the very first surgeon at PRMC! My great grandmother was a long time high school English teacher at Wicomico High School. Both of my mother’s parents grew up in Salisbury and her father (my grandpa), spent the bulk of his career (30 years!) at NASA on Wallops Island in Virginia. Last but not least, my parent’s both began their careers at Perdue in Salisbury, which is where they first met. I have always had a passion for journalism and story telling. If you have any local news story ideas you would like to share with me, you can email me at Brooke_Butler@47ABC.com. When I’m not reporting, you can find me either out paddle boarding, jet skiing, restaurant hopping, being a beach bum or hanging out at local pet shelters. Feel free to come up and say “hi” if you ever see me out and about!
