SNOW HILL, Md. - A man who police believe killed a missing woman back in 2007 is behind bars tonight.
The suspect was arrested in Texas and extradited to Worcester County this week.
Almost two and a half years later since Christine Sheddy went missing, police found her remains at the River House Inn, a bed and breakfast in Snow Hill.
"There was a witness who directed us to the location where the body was found," said Joel Todd, State's Attorney for Worcester County.
Witnesses also told police Justin Hadel was linked to the murder. Hadel, who is now 19, stayed as a guest at a Byrd Road house in Pocomoke in 2007. The same house Sheddy stayed at.
Todd is not releasing many details regarding the case, but he says witnesses have been withholding information.
"The witness indicated that the crime happened in November of 2007 but the witness didn't tell us that in 2007, they told us that recently," said Todd.
Hadel was transported to the Worcester County jail on Tuesday and is being held without bond.
"We won't know until we get through the end of the investigation who if anyone else may be charged," said Todd.
Hadel was 17 at the time of the alleged murder.
If convicted, he will be charged as an adult.
Hadel is facing charges for first and second degree assault and murder.
